When I think of leather, what usually comes to mind is a pair of tall boots, a bomber jacket, or a handbag. That’s precisely why I love when it is presented in unexpected forms: shorts, sleeves, head bands, and jewelry. I love the dainty look that these items evoke – leather doesn’t normally give off that vibe in my book.
If you have ever wanted to take a bath in strawberries and champagne or scrub clean with a mimosa, philosophy has you covered. With a huge range of flavors (no, you can’t eat them), philosophy has mastered making the most delicious treats into the most delectable body products.
But it doesn’t stop there! One of my favorite scents (not flavors) is Falling in Love, which definitely doesn’t take after a dessert. There are eye creams, hand repair, lip glosses, and all things bath and body. Today, Hautelook is featuring philosophy sets, duos, and individual bottles of yummy. If you need an invite to Hautelook, just drop me a line. Now it’s time to ponder how to narrow your choices down.
I spy with my little eye, something that has changed my ears for the better. Thanks to my friend, who doesn’t have a blog so I can’t link him, but I can link his wife who just started one, I’ve joined Spotify. I describe it as a hybrid of Grooveshark and iTunes. (Two of my favorite listening engines).
Spotify allows you to find songs and star them, add them to your library or add them to a specific playlist. Its interface is much like iTunes, but you don’t have to buy and download the songs–you can stream them online for free, much like Grooveshark. Maybe it should have been named iShark…but Apple might have thrown a fit.
This site is based on invitation, but it looks like you can request an invitation right on the homepage. Though I haven’t gone premium, I have a feeling my listening habits might make a case for it in the future. Until then, it’s free as a bird.
What’s better than a slew of new kate spade bags? Kate spade bags combined with the ingenuity of Current/Elliot. Designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliot are most-known for their line of premium denim, with the slogan “Wear for love/Love for wear.” (I love it!) Now, they’ve teamed up with kate spade for a new collection: Westward.
Although a relatively new band (formed in 2009), Grouplove has found a cozy spot in my daily playlist. Listening without seeing led me to believe that the band was all male. It wasn’t until I saw them live on the second day of Lollapalooza that I realized what a prominent role Hannah Hooper has as the only female vocalist in the group. The band has a raw energy that one can’t help but absorb and emanate. The tunes induce a mild headbang while I jump up and down and wildly snap my fingers (if I knew how to snap).
