It wasn’t until this morning that I realized today is the 2-year anniversary of Treble and Lace. Last year, I commemorated the milestone with a photo shoot. This year is a bit different and my life has been a little too crazy for that. Instead, just a bit of reflection will do. Blogging has been an avenue for so many great things, most importantly, meeting new friends who enjoy the same bits of life – long brunches on the weekend, details in dressing, expressing creativity, playing with design, learning photography, essentially seeing beauty in every thing, person, place and moment. This is especially important to me, as I’ve often struggled to see the silver lining, the bright side.
This year I gained new confidence in social settings. I conducted my first interview with a musician. I gained my first press pass to a concert. I handed my contact card to people. (Scary!) Even if I wasn’t “up for it,” I made myself go to events and meet new people. Breaking out of my comfort zone, was well, uncomfortable, but worth it. There are so many people out there with stories and ideas to share, you just have to be willing to find them and listen.
Sometimes blogging feels stressful, time-consuming, superficial, pointless. Then I remember the amazing opportunities and people I have encountered, and it all makes sense. Cheers to two years.
