It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted an outfit, mostly because it’s been quite some time since I’ve seen daylight. It’s been crucial for me to cherish the sun in the winter, and that is what I’ve been doing – going for walks outside, even when the weather polar vortexes all over us. My sister gifted me this Madewell sweatshirt I’ve been coveting and now I plan to wear it for the next four months. Don’t worry, I’ll wash it.
January is experiencing an overload of my favorite things, mainly because it’s a fresh start to the year and because #birthdaymonth has become a thing. I came home to beautifully-wrapped gifts from Anne, plus my sister has been giving me birthday gifts each week of the month! I treated myself to an online calligraphy course to finally get my lettering down and this was my first attempt – notice the splotches of ink that flew everywhere. And finally, while self-improvement should be kept in mind more than just in January, I do believe in resolutions. This Fitbit is helping me keep mine and become a stepping machine. Happy weekend friends!

I like birthdays because they signify another year lived – one spent with people I love and one spent creating, experiencing, traveling, and learning. At the same time, I’m a little terrified of growing older; I’m nervous about all of the other people growing older too and people and pets passing on. But I read that worrying is like praying for something you don’t want to happen. So instead of my usual anxiety about becoming 27, I am going to spend it thinking about ways to savor my youth: appreciating every moment because time is so crucial to me, getting fancy and being bold because life’s too short not to, and listening to the sweet, sweet music that makes me full inside. (These material things might help in those endeavors).
This dancey track managed to evade my ears for a year, but no fear, I have found it!
