Hi all! Was your Christmas all you dreamed it would be? I hope so! Mine was simply ah-ma-zing and SO much fun. I spent roughly three days in a cabin in Northern Minnesota (Lutsen, to be exact) with my boyfriend’s family. Outdoors, we hiked, ice skated, sledded, and ice fished, while indoors we ate too many treats, played Cribbage and Sequence and listened to tunes.
If you remember my packing list for this particular trip, I’m happy to report that I pretty much stuck to it. Fairisle sweater? Check. Trapper hat? Check. Cribbage board? Check again!
When you’re going to spend the day outdoors, it’s important to have layers. That way, when you get to moving around and playing football with the boys, you can always shed a layer if necessary.
Truth is, we ended up playing catch and towing each other on a snowboard while we waited for the non-existant fish to nip. But that’s what ice fishing is anyway, right? You prepare to catch fish with the notion that you’re out there for other reasons. I can tell you one thing – before I met my boyfriend, the words “ice fishing” were never uttered from my lips.
