I’ve always loved hats but feel a little like “one of those girls” when I actually wear one. I had to leave my insecurities behind in order to don this, but it was fun gallivanting around North Loop in Minneapolis with it on. Zeb and I apartment hunted, scouted locations for our engagement photos, and enjoyed brunch at Smack Shack. And this, my friends, is one of the many hats I wear (even though it’s my sister’s).
Lately I’ve been wearing black, white, and grey, but decided to punch it up a bit for spring. This J.Crew sweater is my new favorite thing and I’d like one in every color, please. Also, D’Orsay flats that kind of fit my wide feet? I’ll take it.
A couple of weeks ago I attended my friend Lily’s bridal shower at W.A. Frost in St. Paul. I knew the occasion called for a bit of fance, but couldn’t bear to bare my legs. Perfect alternative? A jumpsuit. This one is silky and comfortable – just a bit of a challenge when you’ve had too much water and coffee.

Winter is definitely here, but we got a break in Minneapolis last weekend with a bout of 40 degree “warmth.” It’s funny how perspective shifts…a month ago, 40 degrees seemed chilly, but when it comes after a below-freezing streak, it’s time to go streaking! Okay, maybe it’s just time to not freeze faces and extremities off.
This past weekend I celebrated my fiancé and his BFF’s 30th birthdays with a big celebration full of family and friends. The morning after, we ended up walking all over the North Loop to find brunch and finally settled on the fourth place we entered. Oh, and I wore buffalo check x 2.
Have a warm, happy, and grateful Thanksgiving!
After a weekend of working, babysitting, and running a difficult total of 14.5-miles I decided the rest of Sunday was going to be easy. So I put on a comfortable outfit and headed out to Five Watt to load up on caffeine, then did some damage at Madewell. I mean there was a sale. I shopped some more (for cookware and paper goods…), then headed to dinner with Zeb, who had the night off. Afterwards, we capped the evening off with a bonfire at the future-sibling-in-laws’ place (wishful thinking) and fended off the Sunday Blues with Sunday Funs.
