After a weekend of working, babysitting, and running a difficult total of 14.5-miles I decided the rest of Sunday was going to be easy. So I put on a comfortable outfit and headed out to Five Watt to load up on caffeine, then did some damage at Madewell. I mean there was a sale. I shopped some more (for cookware and paper goods…), then headed to dinner with Zeb, who had the night off. Afterwards, we capped the evening off with a bonfire at the future-sibling-in-laws’ place (wishful thinking) and fended off the Sunday Blues with Sunday Funs.

Annnd I’m back. You would think that I haven’t been wearing clothes since spring based on my lack of outfit updates, but in fact, I have. It’s just that summer clothes are not my specialty, and either is finding a photographer. Luckily, my friend Ashley is the bomb.com and snapped a few photos of the outfit I wore to a couple of parties this past weekend. Let the outfits (and the parties) go on!
Communion is described as the exchange of intimate thoughts or feelings, especially when it’s on a mental or spiritual level. Communion, the live music promotions team and indie label, is parterning with Varsity Theater and The Current to bring you some local talent, and that connection to others.
Communion will operate monthly club nights, touting different artists at Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, as well as in eight other U.S. cities.
This month’s iteration features Jessica Lea Mayfield, a 24-year-old rocker influenced by the Foo Fighters and recorded by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Next up is Crash, a current member of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, who roots down in Americana, funk, and soul. Last, but not least, is The Ericksons, an indie-folk sister-duo from Minneapolis whose songs are rooted in loss, but find their way to the light.
Join me (and the whole communion) at Varsity Theater on Tuesday, September 16. Tickets (for this 18+ event) are $10 advance and $15 at the door. Doors: 7pm, Music: 8pm.
And if you like FREE things, then leave a comment below for your chance to get your name (and your bestie) on the guest list. Giveaway ends 9/12/14 at 6PM CST.
Hello, unofficial start to fall! August was absolutely packed, beginning with Lollapalooza. I also had a lot of girl dates – from dinner parties, to book club, to brunches. My obsession with flowers and plants continued, and I attended the Great Minnesota Get-Together, also known as the state fair. Then I rounded out the beautiful month with a private Mason Jennings performance at an organic farm…swoon. Next up: a month of birthday celebrations, theater, concerts, wine parties, baby parties, and exhaustion. (Not pictured: training for Twin Cities 10-Mile and going crazy at work).
