Happy first day of the best month of the year! October always has such lovely things in store: brisk weather, warm beverages, a trip to the pumpkin patch, a plethora of concerts (hello Rocktober) and the best fall colors in nature and in everything else. Before I submerge myself in October goodness, I would like to bid September adieu in the Instagram-recap-sort-of-way.
September started out with a fun trip to NYC – as if I didn’t already post it all over the Internet. (Mild apologies). I came back to Minnesota to realize it was already the middle of the month. It continued with a best friend’s wedding, a few celebrations of fall and rounded out with MSP Fashion Week and the last Twins baseball game of the season.
Oh, and I read The Fault In Our Stars by John Green and CANNOT and WILL NOT stop thinking about it. You should definitely read this book if a) you want to cry and b) you want to feel sad and c) you want to have your mind taken over by a piece of fiction and d) you want to get the lowdown before the movie comes out in 2014 and e) you want to sob. Honestly though, this novel enraptures your mind and heart in the telling of a love story between two adolescents who are terminally ill. Their quirk, intelligence, and wryness makes them loveable, relatable, and ultimately grieve-able. It drives home the message that moments are fleeting and you must do the thing you love to do and love the people you are meant to love.
