Hi friends! One year ago, I started writing Treble and Lace. It had been an idea floating around in my head for months, and it wasn’t until August 1st that I finally decided to dive in. So much has changed in the past year, and I feel as though it has all been for the better.
I have become more versed in (and more addicted to) Polyvore, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter. I have edited photos*, played with typography, and learned about WordPress. I have discovered Take Away Shows, different musical artists, shops, local events, and so much more.
Most importantly, I have become more confident. I, like prettymucheveryone, have struggled with self-image; I could always find several things wrong with me. Now, I focus less on that, and more on the fun of styling and creating myself.
Looking back on my posts, I can plainly see what my style is, though I am unsure of how to describe it. I can see that I like structure (like most things in my life), clean lines, an abundance of color, and downright girliness.
This blog has meant so much to me. It has given me an outlet from my not-so-girly day job and pushed me to try new outfits, create my own pieces through DIY, and discover new artists. I get to reflect back on my life with objective evidence that it was fulfilling.
And finally, the most rewarding part? The people. Treble and Lace has allowed me to meet new friends who share a lot of my interests and inspire me every day. The community I have uncovered is exceptional, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here’s to another year of learning, conversing, attempting, discovering and creating. Thank you so much for reading!!!
*A big thank you to Micah and Zeb for being my photographers for this post!
