Hi friends! Welcome to 2012! Even though it’s a new year, I still have an outfit post or two from 2011, so I’ll kindly get these up and then move along. As I’ve mentioned before, I spent my Christmas weekend in Lutsen, MN. One huge benefit of traveling up North for the holiday was that I had a White Christmas, while this was not the case for the Twin Cities. Jennifer – 1, Twin Cities – 0.
Our cabin was situated perfectly on the shoreline of Lake Superior. I had never seen waves crash up to a shoreline full of snow! The hiking path was in our backyard and I adored all of the benches, bridges and even signs along the path.
At the end of the path, the boyf and I found this small, Christmas-colored house. Apparently it’s used for the summer help, but doesn’t have running water or heat so in winter, it’s useless.
These photos were taken on Christmas day and since I love to be themey, I had to wear my hunter-colored denim. I bought these pants at Zara in Paris, and much to my surprise, I’ve worn them a lot. You’d be surprised how versatile dark green jeans can be! As for the tops, I wanted to be Christmas-themed, but not over-the-top so I chose pink instead of red. All of the ruffles on the tank and cardigan made me feel so girly, even in my big, clunky boots.
Lutsen is a gorgeous place to be, especially during Christmastime when the snow has perfectly blanketed all of the pines and trails.
Although I was happy to get home after a long weekend, I could stare at Lake Superior forever. But alas, it’s time to get back to the real world and to make this year a great one. Happy 2012!
